Calculate Landed Cost of Inventory Items
Record expenses via Write check and choose an asset account by name Landing Cost instead of expense account(s). However, it is highly suggested to fill our Memo field next to each line item, as in the screenshot below.
Provided you have unallocated Landing Cost amount, upon clicking Receive button in Purchase Orders or in Inventory Receipts, the system prompts you to allocate in a new screen as in the screenshot below:
You can allocate costs in proportion to Amount, Quantity or split the landing cost amount manually. Or, you may choose not to allocate costs.
